NMIMS Examination: Exam Date, Exam Pattern and Syllabus {Updated}

NMIMS NMAT 2018 is a university level admission test. NMAT 2018 is conducted by Graduate management admission council (GMAC). It has organized for admission to management programmes such as MBA and many other various management courses in India. These programmes of management are provided by various institutions such as NMIMS, Xavier’s School of Rural School and others.


Exam Date:

The examination dates are announced. Dates are 5th October 2018 to 18th December 2018. Declaration of result would be on 3rd week of January 2018. The examinations would be conducted in online mode only (Computer Based exams). The duration of Examination would be 2:00 hr.

Eligibility criteria for NMAT 2018 are different according to the courses application prefers. However, the basic criteria are Candidate must hold a Bachelors degree (10+2+3/4) from the recognized university. Also, the candidate must have a score of 50% marks in aggregate.

Exam Pattern:

Examination Pattern that is being followed in NMAT are as follows:

  • The questions asked in NMAT Entrance 2018 would be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ).
  • The total questions that would be asked are 120 in the examination.
  • There is no negative marking scheme in NMAT 2018.
  • Candidates can apply three times in a year for NMAT 2018.
  • Candidates can also reschedule for retake examination if they are not satisfied with the marks they scored on the first attempt.
  • The examinations comprise of three subjects: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
  • The no. questions allotted to NMAT 2018 are as follows:

o    Language Skills- 32

o    Quantitative Skills- 48

o    Logical reasoning- 40

Exam Centres:

The NMAT Examinations are held across 44 cities within India. It is divided according to the region. The cities according to regions are as follows:

  1. North: Agra, Dehradun, Delhi, Gurgaon, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Noida, Patna, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Faridabad.
  2. South: Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, Manipal, Mysore, Tiruchirapalli, Vellore, Vizag, Vijaywada.

III.    East: Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong.

  1. West: Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Pune, Pilani, Surat, Vadodara.
  2. Central: Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Raipur.

NMAT Syllabus 2018:

The NMAT 2018 syllabus has three sections or subjects such as Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Skills. Topics under these three subjects are as follows:

Language Skills: Antonyms, Synonyms, Syntax and Correct Grammar, Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretations, Language usage and their rules, Poems, Passages, Reading Comprehension and  Dictionary meaning.

Quantitative Skills (Arithmetic): Line graph, Pie-chart, tables, trigonometry, Algebra, 2D and 3D Geometry & Statics.

Logical Skills: Muti-demisional skills, Puzzles.

The score range for NMAT entrances 2018 are as follows:

Language Skills: 0-96

Quantitative Skills: 0-144

Logic Reasoning Skills: 0-120
