Test of English as Foreign Language commonly known as TOEFL is an examination to understand the comprehensive understanding of English as a language for the higher studies and education in foreign countries. To land into any foreign universities or institutes, an individual has to go through many different examinations. TOEFL is one of such mandated examination where candidate needs to qualify before applying to foreign institutes. The TOEFL test is organized and administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS).

Candidates often are confused between IELTS and TOEFL. Since TOEFL examination is made to test your North-American English, the first choice in TOEFL should be universities in US and Canada region. For other countries, especially UK and Australia, IELTS is more preferred test however TOEFL is also accepted.

TOEFL Application:

Candidates who want to appear for TOEFL test need to register them. Registration of examination can be done by three methods: Online, Phone and via mail.

For online registration, candidate needs to fill all the details which are mandated on the application form. The information should be filled without any error or mistake. The payment for online mode can be done through debit card, credit card and net banking.

Through postal mail, candidate needs to download the application form through official website. Candidate needs to fill the application form with all the correct details and send it to the regional center of TOEFL.

For Phone registration, candidates need to visit to regional registration center (RRC) contact number. Candidate needs to spell their name and give out all details as mentioned in the documents.

TOEFL Eligibility Criteria:

For TOEFL, Any candidate who wants to pursue higher education from foreign education will be eligible to apply and appear the examination. Any individual who is applying for visas in another country will be eligible for the TOEFL.

TOEFL Exam Pattern:

TOEFL examination will be online mode or computer based test. The duration of the examination will be four hours and thirty minutes (270 minutes). The test has four sections i.e. Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. The breakdown of the section is as follows:
